Kenya, China Telecom in talks on ICT, AI push
Kenya’s government met with China Telecom Corporation Limited representatives led by Lin Gui Qing at the Ministry Headquarters to discuss expanded cooperation in the information and communications technology sectors. Officials emphasized attracting investment to support national digital transformation objectives while exploring partnerships in artificial intelligence applications, cloud computing infrastructure, and data center development.
The discussions addressed modernizing public service delivery through technology adoption as part of Kenya’s Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy Pillar within the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda framework. Government officials signaled openness to private sector participation, supporting expansion of the country’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.
