Continental Re opens ICT lab at CIFM Nigeria
Continental Reinsurance established the M.H. Koguna IT Lab at the College of Insurance and Financial Management through a partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, investing N70 million to advance technological education for insurance professionals. Group Managing Director Lawrence Nazare conceived the facility, honoring the reinsurance firm’s founding chairman, with Managing Director Fatai Lawal overseeing implementation focused on digital learning capabilities and workforce skill development.
Executive Director Emeka Akwiwu, Regional Director Ogadi Onwuduegbo for Lagos, CIIN President Yetunde Ilori and CIFM Board Chairman Jide Orimolade attended the launch, highlighting the laboratory’s role in building a technology-driven insurance sector across Africa. The company positioned the project within broader corporate responsibility initiatives, supporting talent cultivation and industry innovation through infrastructure investment at educational institutions, training future practitioners.
