Michelle Zauner pens foreword for Infinite Jest reissue
Michelle Zauner will write the introduction for the 30th anniversary release of Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. The Japanese Breakfast musician appears as the foreword author on the Hachette Book Group website, where readers can order the February 2026 edition.
Zauner has discussed her admiration for the 1996 novel in multiple interviews. She told The Fader that the book influenced her recent album For Melancholy Brunettes. The writer said she wanted to create challenging work similar to the difficult prose Wallace employed in his fiction.
The anniversary edition arrives Feb. 3 through Back Bay Books. Zauner gained recognition beyond music after publishing her memoir Crying In H Mart, which became a bestseller.
