Namra sees 22% drop in individual tax revenue
Namibia’s tax authority collected N$2.5 billion less from individual income taxpayers during the 12 months ending in September 2025, representing a 22 percent drop compared with the prior year.
Sam Shivute, who leads the Namibia Revenue Agency, said collections from individuals fell to N$8.9 billion from N$11.4 billion in the previous period. However, total net revenue reached N$39.1 billion through September 2025, he said. Companies in gold mining, banking and telecommunications paid more in corporate taxes due to improved financial results, while value-added tax refunds climbed 16 percent, mainly for exploration activities.
A tax amnesty program that ran from April through September brought in N$2.6 billion as 28,157 taxpayers settled overdue obligations. The agency reversed N$380.2 million in interest charges and canceled N$9.8 billion worth of penalties for those who participated, Shivute said.
