NEM, AXA Mansard win big at Almond Awards
NEM Insurance captured the General Insurance Company of the Year award at the Almond Insurance Industry Awards held at Stable Event Centre in Lagos, while AXA Mansard secured the life insurance category and SCIB Nigeria won the broking firm recognition. The ceremony attracted over 17,000 stakeholder votes and featured entertainment alongside insurance sector leaders and figures, including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Nigerian Ports Consultative Council Chairman Bolaji Sumonla.
Kunle Ahmed, managing director of AXA Mansard and Nigerian Insurers Association chairman, received the Insurance CEO of the Year distinction in individual categories, while Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu of REX Insurance earned Insurance Woman of the Year honors and Enitan Solarin of YOA Insurance Brokers claimed the broker title. Organizers evaluated companies on financial strength metrics, including assets and shareholder funds, gross premium income, claims processing speed, corporate social responsibility and brand visibility.
