Nitish Kumar launches Rs 13,000 crore projects in Jamalpur
Bihar launched development initiatives valued at more than 13,000 crore rupees this month, anchored by a 250-crore-rupee dairy facility in Jamalpur that will process milk from six districts. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar opened the Mother Dairy plant, which covers 15 acres and expects to handle 100,000 liters daily before expanding to 200,000 liters.
The factory will create 250 direct positions and additional indirect jobs while connecting producers across Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Khagaria, Jamui, and Lakhisarai to processing operations. Local residents told reporters that the National Dairy Board project addresses the region’s long-standing economic stagnation.
The facility will purchase milk directly from villages, supporting thousands of families who raise livestock. Residents credited Kumar and Prime Minister Modi for bringing manufacturing to an area they described as previously neglected.
