NVIDIA walks back Jensen Huang hype
Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang overstated projected revenue from the company’s artificial intelligence processors by $93 billion at a conference this week. The chipmaker’s finance team corrected his claim that Blackwell and Rubin products would generate $500 billion over five quarters.
The actual figure covers cumulative shipments through 2026 and includes networking equipment sales. Nvidia shipped $100 billion worth of Blackwell processors this month, representing 30 percent of the expected demand. Revenue from both product lines will reach $307 billion across the next five quarters.
Huang displayed the Vera Rubin Superchip for the first time at the event, combining ARM processors with Rubin components. The company expects these generations to exceed Hopper sales by five times. Blackwell appeals to customers through performance improvements and power efficiency gains over previous models.
