redAcademy partners with Flash Group to develop junior tech talent in South Africa
Flash Group has partnered with redAcademy to address persistent shortages of experienced technology professionals by accelerating skill development among junior developers through a customized training framework. The South African fintech company identified abundant entry-level candidates but limited senior expertise during recruitment analysis, prompting collaboration with the education provider to prepare junior talent for advanced responsibilities without burdening existing technical teams.
redAcademy will deliver its Skills Integration as a Service model, offering immersive instruction aligned with Flash Group operations and corporate culture while allowing trainees to contribute immediately through hands-on client project work. Learning and Development Manager Melissa Stemmers noted that competition for scarce qualified professionals complicated hiring efforts, leading the organization to explore accelerated development pathways for less experienced candidates.
The initiative enters its Discovery Phase as both companies finalize candidate selection and curriculum adaptation before launching operations in January 2026. Managing Director Jessica Hawkey emphasized the importance of cultural alignment alongside technical competency, positioning the collaboration as a long-term investment in local talent development within the fintech sector.
