Samsung bets big on Exynos 2600 for Galaxy S26
Samsung Electronics will integrate its Exynos mobile processor into the Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup after completing development of the Exynos 2600 chip. The System LSI division will begin supplying the processor for select S26 models starting in November. Internal testing indicates the Exynos 2600 performs comparably to the A19 Pro chip found in Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro devices. At least one S26 variant will feature the new Exynos processor when the series launches early next year.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra may become the first Ultra model since 2022 to use an Exynos chip rather than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. Samsung relied exclusively on Snapdragon chips for the entire S23 line and most S24 models. The current S25 series uses only Qualcomm processors across all three models. The company’s semiconductor business designs and manufactures the Exynos chipsets.
India will see the S26 series launch between January and March next year. The flagship model will compete against premium devices such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Reports suggest the S26 Ultra base model could cost approximately 160,000 rupees. The device may offer 12 gigabytes of memory with storage options of 256 gigabytes, 512 gigabytes, and one terabyte.
