SecZim CEO Anymore Taruvinga resigns, Berejena to act
Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe chief executive Anymore Taruvinga will leave his post on October 31, after three years at the helm of the regulatory body. Grace Berejena takes over as acting head on November 1, bringing more than 25 years of capital market experience. She chairs the Southern African Development Community securities subcommittee and spent 15 years at SecZim. William Manhimanzi became acting chairman and vice chairman on June 9 after 33 years in finance.
Taruvinga guided the agency through major changes that strengthened investor safeguards and expanded market education programs. The commission launched regulatory sandbox rules in February to test financial technology platforms before wider release. Under his leadership, Zimbabwe Stock Exchange Holdings listed shares on the main board. Berejena previously directed policy and market development at the organization.
