Silicon Power launches XPOWER XS90 SSD with PCIe Gen 5 speeds
Silicon Power introduced the XPOWER XS90 solid-state drive with PCIe Gen 5×4 connectivity capable of sequential read performance at 14,300 MB/s and write speeds reaching 13,400 MB/s. The M.2 2280 device incorporates a TSMC 6nm controller paired with LPDDR4 DRAM cache and supports NVMe 2.0 protocol for enhanced queue management across AI computing, gaming, and content creation workflows. Capacity options include 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB configurations.
The drive ships without an integrated heatsink to accommodate diverse cooling implementations in desktop motherboards, laptops, and compact systems utilizing PCIe 5.0 storage interfaces. Silicon Power positions the XS90 as a solution for workloads involving AI model datasets, video editing, and large game libraries, where storage bandwidth affects system performance. A five-year limited warranty accompanies each unit.
