South Africa to host historic 2025 G20 summit
South Africa will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit on November 22 and 23 as the first African nation to lead the global economic forum. The continent holds 30 percent of mineral reserves and 65 percent of arable land, yet remains disconnected from major trade networks. United Nations forecasts show that Africa will account for 25 percent of the world’s population by 2050 and will supply 85 percent of the new workers over the next quarter-century.
Leaders will gather in Johannesburg on November 19 and 20 for talks on industrial growth and regional commerce. The African Continental Free Trade Area aims to lower barriers between countries and boost local production. Investments in artificial intelligence and manufacturing show what governments can achieve when they support innovation and expansion.
