South Korea to host drill on supply chain crisis response
South Korea will conduct an international exercise on Wednesday to prepare for potential disruptions in global supply networks. The Crisis Response Network drill brings together member countries to strengthen their ability to address shortages affecting the Indo-Pacific area. South Korea leads the network as part of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework established by the United States in 2022 with 13 other nations.
The simulation will test how participating governments respond when critical mineral supplies become scarce and prices surge after unexpected facility closures. Lee Jae-keun, from the trade ministry, said maintaining reliable supply chains has become vital for achieving emissions goals and keeping advanced industries competitive. The framework connects Japan, Australia, India and New Zealand among its members.
