Starlink begins India hiring drive
SpaceX has begun recruiting employees in India as the company prepares to launch satellite internet service through its Starlink division. The Elon Musk venture posted openings for finance positions in Bengaluru, where operations will be based.
Advertised roles include tax manager, accounting manager, payments manager and senior treasury analyst. The company will hire workers with valid authorization who can work from the office rather than remotely. Candidates will handle financial reporting, compliance systems and statutory requirements as the business expands.
The hiring push signals plans to start commercial service in late 2025 or early 2026. Starlink demonstrated its broadband technology to government officials in Mumbai to meet security and lawful interception standards before receiving spectrum. The firm requested approval for gateway stations in Mumbai, Chennai and Noida with plans for additional locations afterward.
Competitors Jio Satellite and Eutelsat OneWeb have secured regulatory permissions but await spectrum assignments. Indian authorities continue to finalize policies for satellite broadband pricing and distribution.
