THEA1200 brings back the Amiga 1200 with modern upgrades
Retro Games will release the THEA1200 computer on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, for approximately $167, with preorders starting in November 2025. The full-size system recreates the Amiga 1200 from the 1990s with a functional keyboard, vintage mouse and gamepad that boot into the original Workbench desktop interface.
The package contains 25 games, such as Beneath a Steel Sky and The Settlers II, with multiple save slots and USB support for additional titles. Modern features include HDMI output for contemporary displays and video scaling options with filters that simulate cathode-ray tube monitors.
The manufacturer has not disclosed whether the hardware uses field-programmable gate array technology to replicate the original components or uses ARM processors for emulation. The digital system eliminates floppy drives while maintaining compatibility with classic software, and it connects to current televisions and screens.
