Warner Music Group, Feed.fm partner on Feed Clips
Warner Music Group has become the first major label to partner with Feed Clips, a service enabling app developers to incorporate licensed music snippets into their platforms. The agreement provides Feed.fm with access to recordings from Warner Recorded Music and compositions from Warner Chappell Music, which developers can integrate through the Feed Clips API.
The San Francisco company specializes in music integration services and offers rights management, content curation, and usage reporting alongside its API support. This collaboration arrives amid growing pressure on social media platforms and app developers to secure proper music licensing, following multiple copyright infringement lawsuits against retailers for unauthorized use of major label catalogs in social media content.
Warner Music Group has been expanding its distribution channels through similar partnerships with karaoke technology provider Singa, streaming platform Audiomack, and Spotify. Rachel Scarpati, VP of Business Development and Digital Strategy at the label, stated the partnership advances efforts to create a more innovative music ecosystem, while Feed.fm CEO Jeff Yasuda emphasized the growing importance of music as a connective element in digital social environments.
