Pokémon Legends Z-A sells 5.8M in debut week
Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold 5.8 million copies in its first week after The Pokémon Company released sales figures on Friday morning. Nintendo reported that approximately half of the purchases occurred on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The performance trails behind Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which moved 6.5 million units when it launched in early 2022.
The game received an 8.5 out of 10 rating from critic Nathan Birch, who praised the combat system and production quality despite a smaller map than previous entries. Players can complete the main story in about 20 hours or extend gameplay significantly by collecting all creatures. Birch described the title as the most polished Pokémon role-playing game of the high-definition era and expressed optimism about future developments in the series.
