Zimbabwe gold output set to break annual record
Zimbabwean gold output totaled 37.06 metric tons during January through October 2025. This performance positions the nation to exceed its yearly goal of 40 metric tons before year’s end. Independent and small operations supplied 27.7 metric tons, accounting for three-quarters of all gold produced nationally. Major mining firms added approximately 9.3 metric tons to the total.
Official figures showed gold shipments abroad generated $1.93 billion during the first three quarters of 2025. This represented a 71 percent increase compared with the same timeframe one year earlier. Industry observers credit improved payment systems for miners and sustained high global precious metal values as key contributors to the growth. Formalization efforts for small-scale operators also helped reduce illegal trading.
