Fans revive lost WotL content in Tactics
A new mod restores limited War of the Lions content to Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which otherwise lacks the extra features found in mobile and PSP versions. Created by Dana Crysalis and available free on Nexus Mods, the WotL Character Repair mod enables players to use Balthier and Luso in battle with their original Jobs and abilities.
The mod requires Cheat Engine and the Reloaded-II loader to function, as adding new story events to the game remains technically difficult. Despite these setup hurdles, both characters operate as fully playable units once installed. Testing confirms they integrate smoothly into combat, behaving like standard party members—a feat impossible in the base Ivalice Chronicles release.
The developer hopes future updates will restore other missing elements, such as the Dark Knight and Onion Knight Jobs. While The Ivalice Chronicles is not the most complete version of the game, it includes numerous enhancements, and this mod helps narrow the gap with earlier releases.
