Adani Ports showcases tech, sustainability at IMW 2025
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd is demonstrating its maritime capabilities at India Maritime Week 2025, which runs through Friday at Mumbai’s Bombay Exhibition Centre. The company operates 15 domestic ports and four international facilities, handling nearly 25 percent of India’s cargo traffic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the event on Wednesday.
The port operator plans to sign agreements with Mumbai Port Authority for seven tugs and with Chennai Port Authority for one escort vessel. Additional contracts cover the construction of tugs and the development of dredging equipment under domestic manufacturing programs. Adani Ports will also finalize deals for infrastructure projects at Vadhvan, Haldia, Vizhinjam and Dighi ports.
The company has trained more than 8,000 people in port operations and logistics over the past 2 years through Adani Skills and Education. At Vizhinjam Port in Kerala, the firm deployed India’s first women quay crane operators. The port network employs artificial intelligence systems to coordinate shipping, rail and road transport.
