Adani, RSWM tout green shift—workers see no gain
A major Indian textile producer has arranged to purchase 60 megawatts of clean electricity from Adani Energy Solutions as part of efforts to expand sustainable operations. RSWM Limited will receive power through a Group Captive arrangement after investing 60 crore rupees with a renewable generation company, according to statements released on Wednesday.
The agreement will boost green energy usage at RSWM manufacturing sites throughout Rajasthan from the present 33 percent to 70 percent of total consumption. Annual delivery will reach 31.53 crore units serving facilities operated by the textile maker, which belongs to the LNJ Bhilwara Group. Chairman Riju Jhunjhunwala said the transition places the company well beyond India’s 31 percent national average for clean power while establishing new standards for industrial energy practices.
Adani Energy Solutions plans to build its commercial and industrial client base to 7,000 megawatts during the next five years through customized electricity packages. The infrastructure operator maintains transmission lines spanning 26,705 circuit kilometers across 16 states. Joint Managing Director Rajeev Gupta noted the hybrid system will reduce environmental impact while strengthening long-term supply reliability for production operations.
