Advertising legend Piyush Pandey dies at 70
Piyush Pandey died on Friday at age 70 after battling a severe infection, according to the Ogilvy advertising agency, where he served as Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Worldwide. The Padma Shri recipient transformed Indian advertising through memorable campaigns that became part of popular culture. His work spanned political messaging and commercial brands such as Cadbury Dairy Milk and Vodafone.
Pranav Adani of Adani Enterprises paid tribute to the creative leader who elevated Indian advertising to global recognition. Pandey created the political slogan “Ab ki baar Modi sarkar” and developed public health initiatives, such as the polio vaccination campaign with Amitabh Bachchan. His advertising portfolio featured campaigns for Asian Paints and other major brands. The industry figure leaves behind colleagues and creative work that continue to shape Indian advertising.
