Airtel Tanzania, VETA push mobile tech training for youth
Airtel Tanzania showcased its educational technology efforts at a recent VETA stakeholders meeting in Dar es Salaam. Prof. Caroline Nombo, Secretary General at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Fredrick Salukele, Director of Technical Education and Vocational Training, and CPA Antony Kasore, VETA Director General, visited the company’s exhibition booth. They observed the VSOMO platform, which Airtel created with VETA to deliver short technical training courses through mobile phones.
The platform helps Tanzanian youth access skills development programs and boost their employment prospects. Airtel Tanzania uses mobile technology to advance workforce readiness and support government education objectives. The collaboration demonstrates how telecommunications can expand learning opportunities for young people across the nation.
