Instagram lets users share location live via personal message

Since Monday, Instagram users can share their location via personal message. Providing one-on-one conversations and group chats with a nickname is also possible, and more than 300 new stickers have been added.

The sharing feature can only be used in private messages, group chats, and Instagram reports. The precise location cannot be shared outside of PMs. The feature works for up to an hour. The app indicates via an indicator at the top of the screen that the user’s location is being shared.

To change the name of a conversation or user, the user clicks the name at the top of the chat window. Nicknames are only visible to users and are only used within private messages. Users can also determine who can change their nickname.
