Anchor blends underwater survival with PvP and PvE modes
Developer Fearem announced Anchor, an underwater survival game that combines elements from Rust and Subnautica in a post-apocalyptic ocean setting. Players can join servers with up to 150 participants or explore alone after nuclear catastrophe forces humanity beneath the waves. The game offers player-versus-environment modes for those who prefer cooperative gameplay without competitive threats from other users.
Survivors must manage oxygen levels, maintain underwater shelters, and avoid predatory marine animals while gathering resources. The title features Earth’s oceans rather than alien environments, though developers have not revealed how various sea creatures will affect gameplay mechanics. Fearem plans to release Anchor for personal computers but has not confirmed whether the game will appear on consoles.
The studio has not announced a launch date or participation in upcoming promotional events such as Steam Next Fest. The game aims to deliver a grounded aquatic experience distinct from science fiction alternatives available in the survival genre.
