ASUS debuts OLED gaming monitors with record refresh rates
A pair of premium OLED gaming monitors from ASUS Republic of Gamers push refresh rate limits and extend panel life through a dual-layer Tandem OLED design. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG raise brightness by about 15 percent, widen color volume by about 25 percent and offer an estimated 60 percent longer lifespan versus standard WOLED panels. Both use a TrueBlack Glossy surface for stronger contrast and meet VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification for high dynamic range performance.
ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W is presented as the fastest OLED monitor, with a native refresh rate of 540 hertz and a quoted 0.02 millisecond response time. It can switch between QHD at 540 hertz and 720p at 720 hertz via a single hotkey. The display measures 27 inches diagonally and runs at 1440p, covering 99.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, supporting 10-bit color and a quoted 1.5 million to 1 contrast ratio. Connections include DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 at 80 gigabits per second and HDMI 2.1. A tripod mount accepts accessories for measurements or streaming. Factory calibration yields a delta E under 2, and peak HDR brightness reaches 1,500 nits. The suggested retail price is $1,099.
