BSE swamped as investor complaints pile up again
The Bombay Stock Exchange closed 143 investor grievances filed against 90 corporations in October while handling complaints from earlier periods. The bourse received 120 fresh complaints targeting 81 businesses during the same month, according to its monthly investor report released on Monday.
JSW Steel Limited held five unresolved complaints as of Oct. 31, making it the company with the most pending issues lasting beyond one month. Aneri Fincap Limited and Franklin Industries Limited each had four outstanding grievances. The exchange stated it continues pursuing measures to handle investor concerns promptly to maintain market integrity and build confidence among participants.
September figures showed the stock exchange addressed 190 complaints involving 126 firms while taking in 173 new submissions. The Securities and Exchange Board of India has collaborated with exchanges and intermediaries to enhance transparency through SCORES, an online complaint system. Both SEBI and the Reserve Bank of India have expanded educational campaigns to combat fraud. The central bank’s RBI Kehta Hai initiative and the regulator’s SEBI vs SCAM program work to inform investors about protecting themselves digitally, recognizing scams and accessing available channels for resolving disputes.
