Cac rolls out ai portal, targets 10-min signup
The Corporate Affairs Commission launched an artificial intelligence system that completes business registration within 10 minutes through its new portal introduced on June 30. Registrar-General Hussaini Ishaq Magaji announced the development at a management retreat in Kaduna while marking two years in his position. The platform enables customers to reserve names and generate certificates without staff assistance, following the agency’s resolution of technical problems that disrupted operations when Magaji took office in 2023.
The commission plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence for compliance tracking and customer service. Magaji said the technology follows practices from the United Kingdom’s registry system and will support, rather than replace, human decision-making. The agency conducted over 700 training programs and improved employee benefits by adjusting salaries and upgrading transportation. Revenue collection increased after fee modifications that Magaji attributed to stakeholder cooperation and organizational reforms.
