Charli XCX in talks for Dakota Johnson’s A Tree Is Blue
Charli XCX may join the cast of A Tree Is Blue, the first feature film Dakota Johnson will direct. The Hollywood Reporter stated negotiations are nearly complete for the British pop star to appear in the production. Jessica Alba is also discussing a potential role in the project.
Vanessa Burghardt wrote the screenplay and may act in the film. Johnson directed a short called Loser Baby that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. Charli XCX has voiced animated characters in The Angry Birds Movie and UglyDolls, but recently expanded her acting work with several new projects.
