Colgate-Palmolive India profit sinks, shares slide
Colgate-Palmolive India reported sharp declines in its financial results for the three months that ended in September 2025. Net profit dropped 17 percent to 327.50 crore rupees from 395.05 crore rupees in the same quarter one year earlier. Revenue fell more than 6 percent to 1,519.50 crore rupees compared with 1,619.11 crore rupees in the prior year period.
The company attributed the weaker performance to temporary disruptions among distributors and retailers after changes to goods and services tax rates. Management said it worked with partners to pass lower prices to consumers following the tax adjustments. The firm declared a first interim dividend of 24 rupees per share, totaling 652.8 crore rupees, with payment scheduled for November.
