Compliance Institute targets 7,000 members by 2025
Nigeria’s Compliance Institute closed its ninth annual meeting in Lagos after adding more than 5,100 professionals to its roster from countries spanning the United Kingdom, Canada and several African nations. President Pattison Boleigha told members the organization expects to surpass 7,000 members by late 2025 as it moves into oil and gas, telecommunications and manufacturing sectors.
The institute’s charter bill advanced to its second reading in the Senate and will be subject to public review soon. Boleigha said securing the charter remains the top goal for 2025 because it would give the body authority to regulate compliance work across Nigeria.
Registrar Bawo Egbakhumeh reported certification exam candidates jumped 14 percent while successful completions rose 54 percent. The pass rate climbed from 61 percent to 82 percent, showing professionals are meeting higher compliance standards.
