Cyberdrone wows crowds with 600 drones at Plan ₿ Forum
A Dubai company flew 600 drones above a Swiss lakefront on Friday to mark a Bitcoin conference with animated images drawn from internet culture. Cyberdrone presented its fourth annual display at Plan B Forum in Lugano, where the aircraft traced patterns representing financial systems and blockchain technology over a 15-minute program.
The drones used satellite navigation and automatic safety controls to form shapes above Parco Ciani. Tether paid for the event, which replaced standard corporate advertising with symbols familiar to cryptocurrency users. Cyberdrone expanded from 400 aircraft last year to 600 this time.
Lugano has accepted Bitcoin and Tether payments at more than 500 shops since 2022 under a partnership with the cryptocurrency firm. The conference drew attendees from more than 50 countries. The aerial show was visible to both conference participants and members of the public who gathered at the waterfront.
