Momas starts €3m TVET centre in Ogun State
A three-million-euro vocational training facility for electrical technology has commenced construction in Ogun State with support from the African Union Development Agency and the Skills Initiative for Africa program, according to presidential advisor Adamson Ayinde. MOMAS Group secured financing under SIFA’s first funding window after exceeding required counterpart contribution levels for the project addressing workforce shortages in smart metering, renewable energy systems and electrical safety practices.
Company chairman Kola Balogun stated the center will strengthen capacity for installing solar panels and energy storage equipment while creating employment opportunities for graduates domestically and internationally. Nigerian Society of Engineers president Margaret Oguntala endorsed the initiative as responding to infrastructure development needs, while AUDA-NEPAD representative Gemechu Kusa characterized vocational education as a primary pathway to sustainable livelihoods rather than a secondary option for youth advancement.
