Delta profit jumps 83% on strong H1 revenue
Delta Corporation Limited reported a substantial increase in its financial performance for the half-year period. The beverage maker’s profit after tax surged by nearly 83 percent, reaching 75.05 million dollars. This growth was supported by a 32 percent rise in group revenue, which totaled 514 million dollars.
The company attributed the strong results to volume growth across its Zimbabwe business units and the consolidation of Schweppes Holdings Africa Limited as a subsidiary. Lager beer volumes grew by 21 percent, while the sorghum beer category saw a 16 percent expansion. Sparkling beverages recorded an 11 percent volume increase. A significant reduction in exchange losses, which fell sharply to 516,000 dollars, also contributed to the improved profitability.
Chairman Todd Moyo stated the business remains resilient and is prioritizing critical capacity expansion projects to meet buoyant consumer demand. These initiatives include upgrades to brewing and packaging plants. The company’s total assets also expanded by nearly 28 percent, reaching 572.11 million dollars.
