DPIIT, Kotak Bank, Primus ink startup pact
India’s industry promotion department signed agreements with Kotak Mahindra Bank and Primus Partners on Thursday to support the country’s startup sector. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that the partnerships will provide entrepreneurs with banking services, access to credit, digital infrastructure, and training programs. Kotak Mahindra Bank will offer zero-balance accounts, loans, digital payment systems and specialized cards to recognized startups.
The bank plans to connect founders with mentors, investment advisers and networking opportunities to help businesses expand. Primus Partners will assist early and growth-stage product companies through training, expert guidance, market entry support and technology adoption. A joint secretary at the department said the collaboration bridges policy, industry and finance to help Indian innovators compete globally. The agreements reflect the government’s efforts to strengthen innovation and economic development through private-sector engagement.
