Dynamite Songs buys catalogs from Eric Turner and more
Dynamite Songs has acquired music catalogs from singer-songwriter Eric Turner, producer John McGee, and the team of Mark Tieku and Dan Harkna, bringing nearly 150 tracks into its portfolio. The acquisitions include rights to high-profile recordings such as Tinie Tempah’s chart-topping hit with Turner, Avicii collaborations, and Trey Songz’s Grammy-nominated album track co-created by McGee. The catalogs have collectively generated approximately 1 billion streams across platforms.
CEO Alan Wallis emphasized the company’s strategy of targeting smaller collections featuring culturally significant material. Turner’s deal encompasses his publishing and songwriting interests in multiple collaborations, while McGee’s agreement covers his work on R&B releases that achieved gold certification. The third transaction involves the dance track Sunshine by Tieku and Harkna, which gained prominence through a Fiat 500 advertisement and received BBC Radio 1 airplay.
The London-based publisher, backed by Crestline Investors, has expanded its holdings to roughly 1,200 works through recent acquisitions involving material by major artists. The company recently established operations at The Union Club in Soho.
