Edge, Viettel sign Dubai Airshow 2025 defence MoU
EDGE and Viettel Group have established a framework for potential cooperation in defense technologies and advanced systems through an agreement signed at the Dubai Airshow. The understanding between the advanced technology conglomerate and Vietnam’s largest telecommunications organization addresses research collaboration, innovation initiatives, and possible equipment manufacturing arrangements.
Omar Al Zaabi, representing EDGE, and Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien from Viettel formalized the partnership with Deputy Minister of National Defence Hoang Xuan Chien observing the proceedings. The framework permits exploration of component production facilities within Vietnam, supporting product lines destined for UAE markets and international customers.
Provisions allow for technology transfer programs, joint research activities, and training exchanges designed to strengthen capabilities across both organizations. The arrangement reflects strategic objectives to expand global operations while leveraging complementary technical expertise in defense and telecommunications sectors.
