FUGA expands Naxos partnership with Presto Music data integration
Music distributor FUGA extended its agreement with classical specialist Naxos Music Group after its initial 2022 partnership. The expanded deal adds marketing strategy, YouTube management, product creation and royalty oversight to existing digital distribution services. FUGA integrated streaming data from Presto Music into its analytics platform for the first time, allowing Naxos to track performance on the classical-focused service.
The company hired Amy Nelson as Senior Strategy Marketing Manager for Classical and Jazz at its Amsterdam office. Nelson brings over ten years of experience from LSO Live, The Orchard and Pentatone. Naxos operates more than 50 record labels and distributes 500 independent labels with nearly 30,000 titles across classical, world and jazz categories. The Hong Kong-based company earned 15 Grammy nominations this year in opera, orchestral and vocal categories.
Classical music gains renewed attention across digital platforms. TikTok posts tagged with classical music increased 60 percent over the past year to reach nearly one million entries. Universal Music Group launched classical and jazz labels in China while Apple Music created a weekly classical chart last year. The partnership positions both companies to capitalize on growing audience interest in classical content worldwide.
