Halo – Campaign Evolved remake heads to PlayStation
Halo Studios and Xbox revealed Halo: Campaign Evolved on Tuesday as a modernized version of the original game built with Unreal Engine 5. The remake arrives in 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 with enhanced graphics and three prequel missions. Players can complete the campaign with up to four people online or two players through local split-screen cooperative mode.
The remake excludes multiplayer elements from the 2001 release. Developers rebuilt all visual assets and environments for the new engine after abandoning the Slipspace technology. The Master Chief Collection remains available for those seeking the classic multiplayer experience. This marks the first time a mainline Halo title launches on Sony’s platform.
