Indian investors rake in 72% via global funds
Indian investors who ventured into international markets earned returns up to 72 percent over the past year as global funds surpassed domestic equity performance. The Mirae Asset NYSE FANG Plus ETF Fund of Funds led with a 71.78 percent annual return and 62.72 percent three-year gain, while the Nifty benchmark rose just 5.7 percent. Technology-focused American strategies delivered strong results with the Mirae Asset S&P 500 Top 50 ETF Fund of Funds returning 49.91 percent and the Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 Fund of Funds gaining 42.48 percent. The DSP World Mining Overseas Equity Fund of Funds added 32.83 percent as commodity prices strengthened.
Gold and silver stabilized near 4,050 dollars and 48 dollars per ounce after sharp declines from Monday’s record peaks as traders took profits. The retreat reflected movement toward risk investments amid positive sentiment about American-Indian trade discussions that reduced safe-haven appeal for precious metals. Lower seasonal buying from India added pressure on physical markets as demand weakened after the festival period.
