Apple ships record 4.9M iPhones to India in Q3
Apple shipped 4.9 million iPhones to India between July and September 2025 as the iPhone 17 series and festival shopping boosted sales to unprecedented levels. Research firm Omdia reported the figure represented 47 percent annual growth and gave India nine percent of Apple’s worldwide smartphone shipments for the quarter. The company launched the iPhone 17 lineup on Sept. 9 with improved cameras featuring 48-megapixel sensors, a 6.3-inch display and the A19 processor chip.
Apple exported iPhones valued at $10 billion from Indian factories between April and September, marking 75 percent growth from the previous year. Production facilities in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka manufactured most units under government incentive programs. The United States received 78 percent of India-made iPhones, up from 53 percent the previous year. Analysts predicted Apple would achieve its strongest festival quarter in India with 28 percent higher sales than last year.
