Kentucky surges as P&C agent growth leader
Kentucky leads the nation in property and casualty agent growth, with numbers jumping 160 percent since 2020, reaching more than 5,200 agents this year. Nevada and Minnesota followed with gains of 60 percent and 50 percent as new residents and businesses drove demand for coverage. The Insurance Business Agent Insights Dashboard tracks these shifts across five years of state-level data.
Coastal markets tell a different story. New Mexico saw agent numbers drop 85 percent while California fell 78 percent and Washington declined 59 percent. High costs and regulatory pressure pushed firms to merge or leave those states.
Texas remains the largest market with 13,162 active agents. The dashboard helps carriers spot growth areas, measure network performance and plan recruitment strategies. States such as Kentucky, Minnesota and Nevada represent untapped opportunities for expansion.
