Leica M EV1 debuts with integrated electronic viewfinder
Leica introduced the M EV1 camera as the first M-system model with an electronic viewfinder rather the a traditional optical rangefinder. The device features a 5.76-million-dot OLED viewfinder with 0.76x magnification and displays sensor output for precise framing with fast lenses at shallow depths of field.
The camera features a 60-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor from the M11 series, which improves detail capture for landscape and architectural photography. The back-illuminated design reduces noise at higher ISO settings while maintaining color accuracy in dim conditions.
Leica equipped the M EV1 with 64 gigabytes of internal storage, an SD card slot, and wireless connectivity through a dedicated application. The body retains the slim profile and M lens mount from earlier models while adding touchscreen controls with protective glass.
