LG, SK Enmove and GRC dive into AI cooling
LG Electronics will develop artificial intelligence data center cooling systems with SK Enmove and Green Revolution Cooling through a memorandum of understanding signed recently. The partnership combines LG’s equipment integration capabilities with SK Enmove’s thermal fluids and Green Revolution Cooling’s immersion tank technology to create energy-efficient alternatives to traditional air-based server cooling methods.
The liquid-immersion system submerges servers in a non-conductive fluid that transfers heat through external chillers, reducing power consumption compared with conventional approaches. LG will supply coolant distribution units and chillers, while SK Enmove provides specialized cooling liquids, and Green Revolution Cooling contributes tank designs for high-density graphics processor servers.
The companies will demonstrate proof-of-concept installations at LG’s Pyeongtaek facility and develop real-time monitoring platforms for data center operators. LG previously delivered integrated solutions to hyperscale facilities in Indonesia and presented cooling technologies at Data Center World Asia in Singapore.
