Melsmore Marine, MWUN sign agreement to boost welfare
Melsmore Marine Limited formalized enhanced employment terms with the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria through a collective bargaining agreement executed at the company’s Victoria Island office in Lagos. Union President Francis Bunu Abi characterized the arrangement as recognition that workforce satisfaction directly influences organizational productivity and output levels.
The marine services provider recently adjusted compensation packages to address inflation pressures affecting employees, according to Bunu, who praised management’s responsiveness to labor concerns. He noted that the wage modifications would strengthen morale among unionized personnel while maintaining operational harmony.
The maritime labor leader expressed confidence that the collaborative relationship between Melsmore and union representatives would sustain workplace stability across Nigerian port and shipping operations where members are employed.
