Museveni to open Uganda Connect Buyers Week for exporters
President Museveni will inaugurate Uganda Connect International Buyers Week at Munyoyo Commonwealth Resort from November 25 to 28. The event, organized by the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development, or PACEID, aims to link Ugandan exporters with international buyers and investors and to shift trade from commodity sales toward value-added partnerships that expand the country’s export footprint.
PACEID chairman Odrek Rwabogo said the initiative intends to reduce blind trade and build dependable markets where buyers can inspect products and meet exporters face to face. This year’s program introduces a Uganda Connect Marketplace where producers will stage demonstrations, offer samples for buyer appraisal, and host consumer engagement sessions. Organizers expect delegates from buyer delegations, trade missions, investor groups and diplomatic posts interested in sourcing Ugandan goods and forging long-term ties across export value chains. The broader Uganda Connect framework seeks to boost confidence in exports by improving traceability, branding and sustained market relationships.
