NDIS spotlights diaspora investment for national growth
More than 1,000 participants attended the eighth Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit in person, while additional delegates joined remotely to discuss mobilizing expatriate capital for regional and national economic advancement. Summit coordinator Badewa Adejugbe-Williams emphasized that collaboration between citizens abroad and domestic stakeholders produces exceptional results, while praising Nigerians in Diaspora Commission chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa for establishing platforms connecting overseas communities to development initiatives.
Panel discussions addressed financial technology, information communications technology, logistics and digital learning solutions, with Managing Director Evelyn Dan Epelle of IGET noting that technology forms the foundation for economic expansion. Professor Onyishi Ernest Ike moderated education sessions highlighting proposals to improve learning access and employability, arguing that human capital investment remains essential for sustained growth as diaspora investors engaged startup founders on scalable solutions supporting national priorities.
