Northridge Fix warns against buying RTX 5090 FE due to fragile design
A repair technician advised against purchasing the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition after failing to fix a damaged graphics card. The specialist at Northridge Fix said the compact circuit board design places critical components at risk when users attempt modifications.
The card arrived after its owner tried installing a water cooling system and broke the connector pins linking the circuit board to the slot interface. Replacement parts remain unavailable in the market, making repairs impossible once the fragile components sustain damage.
The technician described the RTX 5090 Founders Edition as among the poorest graphics card designs ever produced. Opening the case creates a high risk of permanent damage to internal connections that cannot be repaired.
