NYCM opens new Sherburne branch office
NYCM Insurance opened its new Sherburne branch at 14 Classic Street after 35 years at 16 Chapel Street. President Cheryl Robinson joined Mayor William Acee and state representative Jordan Fleming for the ceremony on Oct. 14. The facility gives employees a modern workspace that supports teamwork across the company.
The insurer brought its assigned risk underwriting operations to Sherburne in February 1990 with 14 trained workers and 35 new hires. Staff grew to 80 people by December that year. The move completes upgrades that began in 2020 across four offices in New York.
NYCM employs about 1,000 workers statewide, with more than 100 based in Sherburne. The 125-year-old company operates locations in Edmeston, Canajoharie, and Orchard Park. Recognition as one of the best places to work in New York came in 2025.
