Piyush Goyal heads to Brussels for crucial FTA talks
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will travel to Brussels on Monday and Tuesday to advance free trade talks with the European Union. The minister meets with Maros Sefcovic, the bloc’s executive vice president and trade commissioner, to address market access terms, regulatory alignment and non-tariff barriers. Both governments are working to finalize a comprehensive agreement that supports stable supply networks and sustainable economic expansion.
The visit follows the 14th round of negotiations held earlier this month. Leaders from India and the EU reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening commercial ties following their meeting earlier this year. The discussions will examine progress made and identify remaining areas where the two sides must reach consensus. A working dinner will follow bilateral meetings between Goyal and Sefcovic.
